How did you meet?
We were introduced through a mutual friend. Avinash got my phone number, we hit it off, and the rest is history.
Tell us about the proposal.
Avinash told me there was a magazine event he had been invited to at hotel Cape Nidhra, Hua Hin. We drove there early in morning, where Avinash had booked us a couple’s massage at the hotel spa. Afterwards we enjoyed a nice lunch and got dressed for the “party”. He led me to the beach where there was a tent set up with candles, rose petals, and a balloon that read ‘Will you marry me?’ He got down on one knee and pulled out the ring as a photographer and a saxophone player appeared from their hiding places. We then had a lovely dinner cooked by a private chef right on the sand.
Why did you pick the particular city?
We always wanted a beach wedding, as it allows the guests to relax fully and enjoy the festivities. Given that the proposal was in Hua Hin, we figured it would be the perfect location to tie the knot.
Which hotels did you choose for your functions?
Novotel Hua Hin
How many guests were there:
What is your best memory from your wedding?
Seeing tears in my husband’s eyes as I walked down the aisle.
What is the best wedding advice you can give to engaged couples?
Wedding planning can be stressful and truly test your relationship. Remember to take it easy and have fun! Enjoy every minute of it and know that in the end, everything will fall into place. There will be hiccups during the events, but it will still be some of your most special moments in life.
Functions: We had six functions and all were at the Novotel Hua Hin. The celebrations started with a mehendi ceremony on the verandah of the hotel overlooking the beach. The theme was colourful, with Indian and Thai food and a DJ. A Welcome Dinner was held in the ballroom with live singers and mix of Indian, Thai and Italian cuisines. The pool party had a La Vida Loca theme with a DJ, dhol drummer, a rain dance and Hawaiian dancers and ‘mermaids’. The theme for our sangeet was ‘Bombay Beats’ and featured performances, dancers, a dhol drummer, and a DJ. The wedding ceremony was around the poolside with a ‘Now And Forever’ theme, dinner and reworks. At the reception in the ballroom the theme was ‘An Elegant Affair’ with Indian Thai, Italian and Japanese cuisines served, and more performances and a DJ.
