Why did you choose Thailand?

We choose Thailand because of its culture, its food, diversity, its beautiful flowers and incredibly delicious fruits and most importantly because of the welcoming and friendly Thai people and their warm hospitality.

Which city was the wedding in and why did you pick the particular city?

The wedding took place in Hua Hin. We selected it because of its several beautiful beachfront locations and of course its close proximity to Bangkok.

Which hotels did you choose for your functions?

We used the Sheraton Resort and Spa Hua Hin for all our functions.

How many guests were there?

There were 320 guests.

Your most memorable moment:

There were several memorable moments during the course of the weekend. Starting with the welcome we received in the traditional Thai manner. Due to the layout of the hotel, the henna function we had was memorable for most guests as it was set in the gazebos surrounded by the lagoon. The most memorable moment would be the actual wedding itself as our mandap was built on the infinity pool facing the ocean with the sun setting behind us.

How many different functions were there?

There were six functions. We had an Arabian Night theme on the Beach Lawn, with Middle Eastern, Indian and Italian food, and a DJ and belly dancers for entertainment. There was also a cocktail party at the Black Club with a ‘Shorts & Shots’ theme. Finger food and a late night Indian meal was served while a DJ provided the soundtrack. The mehndi was held at the Salas Pool restaurant and Island Lawn and had local Thai stalls, Indian food and high tea. The entertainment was live traditional Indian music and Gujarati Garba, along with local arts and crafts stalls. The sangeet was in the ballroom with an East meets West theme.

Thai, Indian, Lebanese, Italian cuisines were served and the entertainment included dance performances by the family, followed by Indian singers, Sriram and Troupe, and a DJ. The wedding ceremony was on the Beach Lawn after which high tea, Indian food, was served; there were tempura and chaat stations and assorted desserts. The reception was a formal affair in the ballroom with Thai, Japanese, Tukta, Indonesian, Indian, Italian cuisines, and entertainment that included speeches by family and friends, an animation of the couple and a DJ.
