Tourism authority of Thailand hosts indian wedding symposium & B2B session 2019

Phuket – 21st June 2019: Mr. Matthias Y. Sutter, General Manager of JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa extend his warm welcomed to Thailand Authority of Thailand (TAT), wedding planners from India at the “Indian Wedding Symposium & B2B Session 2019” on 20 June 2019, at JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa.

Mr. Klissada Ratanapruk, Executive Director, ASEAN, South Asia and South Pacific Region, TAT presided at the event. Beginning with the product update session by Ms. Cholada Siddhivarn, Director, TAT Mumbai and continued to the panel discussion between representatives of the planners, hotels and Tourism Authority of Thailand to strengthen the relationship and to attract more Indian weddings in Thailand. The 4 guest speakers were Mr. David Barret, Consultant the Slate; Ms. Garima Kumar, Director – Weddings by Garema Kumar; Ms. Annika Talwar, Wedding Planner and Mr. Isara Sathapanaset, Director, TAT New Delhi. The discussion was followed by a Table Top – B2B session in which the 20 wedding planners from Mumbai and New Deli and 25 local hoteliers, suppliers, organizers met and had a chance to discuss on the future business opportunities together.

In 2018, The Indian Weddings in Thailand segment generated revenue over 500 million from 50 Indian wedding couples and this year, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) aims to target 70 Indian Weddings, expected to bring more revenue to Thailand and local businesses around 700 million THB.
